Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills

The Black Entrepreneurs of the Flint Hills serves over 100 black-owned business members in Riley, Geary, and Pottawatomie counties in the Flint Hills region of Kansas. Our purpose is to empower, equip and engage black and underestimated business owners in the Flint Hills with resources to build stronger and more effective businesses to positively impact our community.

 

Flint Hills Vetrepreneur Foundation

Started in 2023, the Flint Hills Vetrepreneur Foundation exists to support the launch and growth of Veteran-owned businesses in the Flint Hills and throughout Kansas through Advocacy, Community and Training (ACT). Monthly meetups convene Veteran entrepreneurs and supporters on final Wednesdays. To learn more and get involved, click below.

 

ArtsMHK

ArtsMHK is a community of artists and creatives in the Greater Manhattan, Kansas, area. ArtsMHK emerged from an initial event, Arts & Entrepreneurship, which was designed to connect artists with resources to help them build a business with their work. ArtsMHK is the place to share resources, events and opportunities by artists and for artists. Patrons and supporters of the arts, as well as resource organizations are also welcome in this community. Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge

The annual Riley County Youth Entrepreneurship Challenge, a tradeshow and pitch competition event, awards $1500 in prizes will be to winning student businesses.

High school students from across the county develop business concepts during the fall semester in preparation for the event, with winner proceeding to the statewide Kansas Entrepreneurship Challenge hosted each Spring at K-State University.

This event is supported by K-State Research and Extension Riley County, Manhattan Area Chamber of Commerce and NetWork Kansas.

The K-State Center for Advancement of Entrepreneurship works to enhance the talent pipeline in order to help build economic and social prosperity through innovation and the entrepreneurial mindset.
